So many brides approach us and fellow designers in fear and trepidation when it comes to having a dress designed specifically for them. Should you be afraid….very afraid?
It’s only natural to be unsure when approaching a designer to have a bespoke dress made. after all, there are not many of us who have this sort of experience that often.
We may feel that it would be highly embarrassing to go through the consultation, only to not like the end result and then have to make our excuses to go elsewhere.
Perhaps we are worried that we will not be able to afford the dress when all is said and done.
Well guess what…..designers are used to both. No designer expects to get every commision that they quote for. We do find that most of the time, our designers can come up with the perfect wedding dress at the right price, however there are times when this doesn’t happen…..designers understand!
Truthfully, many brides who are brave enough for a consultation, heave a massive sigh of relief after just a minute or two. Our designers will try their hardest to put you at your ease.
We are not expecting you to be especially knowledgable about bespoke garments (otherwise, you would probably be making the garments yourself), you won’t be required to give an in-depth description of your dream dress or know all the latest trends in colour, fabrics and embellishments (that’s our job). Mind you, if you have lots of ideas, these will be received with pleasure, so don’t be afraid to speak up!
